Limerick Township – Piazza Family
Edward B. Walsh & Associates, Inc. (EBWA) was responsible for the preparation of a land development plan and the approval process for the Piazza Family Limited Partnership for the construction of a new automobile dealership in Limerick, Montgomery County PA. The project involved the complex grading needed for access to the 27,000 SF building from all sides. Given the limited size of the tract of ground, it was necessary to provide an efficient parking lot layout to maximize the vehicle inventory on the site.
With the existing site constraints both on the surface and subsurface, EBWA staff had to rely on their expertise in the stormwater management design to provide a system that met the local and state regulations, while not reducing the area available for inventory parking. The building and parking layout was studied to ensure maximum visibility from the nearby local highway. EBWA was also involved in construction oversight to ensure the finished product met and exceeded the client’s parameters for the facility.
The result was a competed facility that is functioning as hoped by the client to increase their product sales and service capabilities.

MARS Drinks Corporation
East Goshen Township
Edward B. Walsh and Associates (EBWA) worked with SNC-Lavalin and representatives of the MARS Drinks Corporation on the redevelopment of their 136,000 SF corporate campus in West Chester PA, which serves as their U.S. headquarters. The project included preparing all site, demolition, construction and stormwater management plans for the removal of 40% of the existing parking lot, design of a new entrance way and an employee walking trail. EBWA represented MARS at all Township approval meetings and coordinated with other consultants throughout the project.
The project earned a Platinum LEED certification, and EBWA coordinated and provided all design and construction details related to the stormwater management and BMP component. Integral to that effort was the assist in designing a rain water harvest and recirculation system, a Vortex Separation system and an evaluation of the existing stormwater management system relative to today’s BMP requirements. EBWA also served as the client’s technical representative during the construction process, reviewing all shop drawings and serving as the clients advocate during construction issue resolution.
The U.S. headquarters of MARS Drinks is now a modern corporate complex integrating environmental sensitive LEED design concepts and outdoor amenities for their employees.
